Replicator

Do you want your own stuff in the Metaverse?

Then look no further. All you need is your Google profile so you can access all of their free tools.

Just follow the instructions below and start replicating!

Instructions

Click on this item, below, to open the Colab file.

Make a copy of the file in your own drive.

Press the play icon to run the cell and remember to take note of the prompts and instructions.

Additional Resources.

First Step

You need to download NVIDIA CUDA from the link below- https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads Make sure you pick the correct version (11 / exe (local) 2.5Gb). Install the package to your machine.

**You Only Have To Do This Once**

RAM : A minimum of 16 GB RAM is required. You can also get on with a 8GB ram, but it has it’s own complications.

GPU : CUDA is compatible with almost all the models from 2006 but a minimum of GTX 1050ti, 1060 and above are required.

SSD or HDD : A SSD with at least 256GB is required for faster processing. The 128GB SSD falls short of space after the installation of the software.

Next Step

After you've imported, loaded and re-directed all the modules and libraries you'll need to check in your files for the 'point-e' folder. This can be located on the left-hand side once you've pressed the folder icon. Click the arrow to open up the folder.

Another Step

When you get to Step 5 type in the 3D object you'd like to create in the 'prompt' section. Keep the request simple as this algorithm is only trained on a simple object/colour dataset. You can continually re-run this cell until you are happy with the result in following Cell. Then save the file.

Last Step

After you finish playing around in the 3D point viewer and created the SDF file in Step 6 through to 7, you'll be ready to download the file. It will appear in your files on the left hand side, 'MyModel.ply', just press the three dots to get access to the download button. You can also alter the 'grid_size' to 128 for a higher polygon count and better resolution.

Congratulations

Now, I've told that replicator a dozen times about the temperature of my coffee. It just doesn't seem to wanna listen. Almost as if it's got a mind of its own.
